Bring a tough, industrial edge to your next sewing project with Checkerplate Silver from the Truckload of Fun range by KK Fabrics, designed by Milvale Design Studio. This realistic checker plate fabric recreates the look of a steel tread plate, with rows of raised diagonal ridges printed in soft silver over a mid-grey background. Subtle shading gives each ridge a convincing embossed effect, so the print reads as metal plate from across the room.
This hardwearing look makes a great blender or background fabric for quilts with a truck, car, trade or workshop theme. It's a natural fit for boys' quilts, gifts for the tradie or truckie in your life, and man cave or shed décor. The small, even repeat is easy to fussy cut and works well in patchwork blocks, borders, sashing and quilt backings. You can also use it for cushions, tote bags, tool rolls, zip pouches and other practical sewing projects.
